Job Role: AWS Technical Lead
Location: Miami, FL
Job Description:
- Design and Deployment: Design, build, deploy, and maintain cost-efficient, scalable, and secure cloud architectures and infrastructure on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. This includes services like Amazon EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPCs, subnets, Ingress, ALBs, proxies and security groups.
- Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with business leaders to understand objectives and develop cloud-based solutions and strategies that align with business goals and support anticipated growth.
- Cloud Migration: Lead and assist with digital transformation efforts, including migrating existing workloads, applications, and archaic systems into the AWS cloud.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, access controls, and encryption, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST 800-53).
- Optimization: Continuously monitor, reassess, and optimize cloud systems for cost-effectiveness, performance, and efficiency, for example, by utilizing reserved or spot instances.
- Automation: Develop and deploy automation tools, scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and CloudFormation templates to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual effort.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot, debug, and perform ongoing maintenance of cloud systems to prevent data breaches, minimize downtime, and ensure high availability and business continuity.
- Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Deep expertise in AWS services and architecture best practices, often demonstrated through the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and Professional certifications
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure scripting and experience with cloud automation tools.
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex cloud architecture challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills for effectively collaborating with and providing technical guidance to developers, system administrators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integrating legacy systems.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving cloud technologies and trends.
