Position: Controls Engineer /Automation Controls Engineer
Experience: 6 years

Duration: 12- 18 months OR Direct hire.
Summary/Objective
We’re seeking Controls Engineer to lead commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting efforts on draglines and large mining equipment. You’ll be hands-on with state-of-the-art PLC and HMI-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, etc.), and help deliver fully integrated automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, program, and commission control systems on draglines and other heavy mining machinery.
- Develop, upgrade, and maintain automation platforms based on PLCs and HMIs.
- Support instrumentation, electrical diagnostics, and SCADA integration.
- Deliver both on-site and remote technical support across customer sites in North America.
- Collaborate closely with field engineers, service teams, and corporate engineering to deliver high-performance solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Prior experience with heavy equipment or mining systems preferred.
- Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and VFD/Drive programming.
- Familiarity with dragline operations or large rotating equipment is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with travel—up to 70% to mine sites and customer locations.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational precision.
