Infrastructure and Security Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Infrastructure and Security Engineer maintains system security and protocols for the school district.  Maintains the division’s network, hardware, phone systems and software systems.?

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the division's cybersecurity program, security policies, and incident response operations, while continuously enhancing the division's overall cybersecurity posture and protection of critical systems, data, and technology resources;
• Collaborate to design, implement, maintain, and enhance network infrastructure and low-voltage technology systems supporting division-wide construction, renovation, and expansion projects;
• Responsible for overall design of division access control systems and security surveillance systems;
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Incident Response Team;
• Assist with the design, review, maintenance and execution of network infrastructure to include low voltage technologies associated with the division construction and renovation projects;
• Design implement maintain the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem, including implementation, migration, administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement;
• Responsible for the maintenance, load balancer, and configurations associated with the PowerSchool servers;
• Coordinate vendor service support for technology-based projects;
• Assist with implementing and maintaining technology plans for projects, schools, and division mission objectives;
• Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to the Technology Department personnel;
• Assist with short-term and long-term expense forecasts for overall technology budget and specific projects and categories;
• Collaborate with Technology Department staff on strategic planning initiatives, technology roadmaps, infrastructure modernization efforts, and continuous improvement projects;
• Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, cybersecurity solutions, and infrastructure enhancements to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and security;
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, system inventories, network diagrams, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans;
• Performs other assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

• Relevant industry certifications and/or graduate-level certificates in information technology, cybersecurity, network, cloud technologies or related fields. 
• A minimum of?three (3) years in a similar capacity. 
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is desired. 
• Other such qualities may be approved in lieu of any of the above by the School Board;
• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.

• Willingness to work non-scheduled hours as required to maintain the District’s Infrastructure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in the central office and throughout the division.? Frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 50 pounds may be required.? Other limited physical activities are required.? Travel to schools throughout the division and central office is required.? Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment exposes the employee to inside and outside environmental conditions.? Regular contact with staff members and administrators is required.? Accurate record keeping is required. 

EVALUATION:

The supervisor will evaluate performance on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities.

Salary : $81,200 - $134,711
