Campus Technical Support Specialist @ Technology Services

Primary Purpose:
To act as the primary provider of on-site technical support and assistance for all campus related technology issues. To assist administration, staff and teachers in the daily maintenance of all computers, networks, video systems and other technologies.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
- Degree in computer related field preferred
- High level certification in network field such as MSCE, CCNP, or CISSP preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows 10/11, and Windows Server is required; familiarity with iPadOS, ChromeOS, and related technologies is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate and work well in a large diverse workforce
- Knowledge of instruction related software and its uses
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing technical support for varying types of technologies
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology Support
- Assist campuses in resolving technology related problems, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, peripherals, file servers, networks, and video systems.
- Provide a solution to all technology related problems or inquiries by hands-on resolutions or by obtaining assistance.
- Provide the first line contact between the campus personnel and specialized support by Technology Services.
- Assist in the direction of unresolved problems to the appropriate manager and queue in technology services.
- Maintain detailed records of all requests and problem resolutions.
- Maintain detailed fixed asset records of campus technology.
- Assist with installations of new technology each year.
- Responsible for assisting in the development of district standard processes and practices related to campus support issues.
- Perform equipment transfers from one person to another including any software transfers (i.e. computers handed down).
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds), may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Work is performed in an office environment; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $68,972 Mid. $81,400 Max. $93,828 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 220 days. If working less than 220 days, the salary will be less.
