What You Will Be Doing
As a Test Engineer within our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for assessing testing requirements, developing test plans, and executing test cases to ensure the stability and performance of critical business applications. You will work closely with development and test teams to verify that software meets product standards and quality expectations. This position involves analyzing test results, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating re-testing efforts after defects are addressed. You will contribute to monitoring quality metrics, documenting defects, and providing clear test documentation to internal stakeholders. This role is a direct hire position with an emphasis on continuous improvement and collaboration across functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate quality assurance test requirements to define testing scope.
- Design, produce, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases based on technical specifications.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure software delivery aligns with quality standards.
- Execute manual testing of web-based, enterprise, and client-server applications to verify functionality and performance.
- Document, track, and report defects using Jira, Zephyr, and other test management tools.
- Analyze test outcomes to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
- Conduct re-testing and regression testing after defect resolution.
- Generate and communicate test results, coverage reports, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years of software testing experience, including manual testing of web, enterprise, and client-server applications.
- Proven experience supporting testing efforts on large-scale application development projects.
- Extensive defect lifecycle management experience, including defect tracking, validation, and closure.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release testing.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, and test management tools.
- Knowledge of API validation, including experience testing APIs using tools like Postman.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience testing web services and data flow between applications.
- Knowledge of different SDLC approaches such as Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum.
- Familiarity with testing client-server applications and web applications.
- Certification in ISTQB or equivalent is a plus.
Pay: $37.10 – $53.00 /hr
