Senior Java Application Developer (Locals Only)

Role: Senior Java Application Developer/ Architect

Location: Baltimore, MD 21215

hybrid model for this role; candidates should plan to be onsite full time for a while and work their way up to 2-3 days remote after 3-6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, and modernize enterprise applications with a strong hands-on development approach.
• Actively develop and deliver code using Spring Boot (Java) and React, supporting legacy-to-modern application transformation.
• Lead data migration efforts from legacy/mainframe systems to modern relational databases.
• Build and implement SSO solutions (Okta, SAML) and support secure application integrations.
• Deploy, configure, and manage applications on IIS/Web servers and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams while also working as an independent contributor for end-to-end delivery.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Java (Spring Boot) and React (must be actively coding).
• Experience with application modernization, microservices, and cloud architecture.
• Expertise in data migration (mainframe/legacy to SQL-based systems).
• Experience with SSO (Okta, SAML) and secure enterprise integrations.
• Solid knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).

Nice to Have:

• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) and architecture frameworks (TOGAF, etc.)
• Experience in government or highly regulated environments
