Role Overview
The SME serves as the key liaison between Biometrics business teams and Data Engineering teams, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and accurately translated into technical solutions. This role combines deep clinical data domain expertise with the ability to bridge business and engineering, driving the design and delivery of data products that meet clinical requirements and support an AI-ready data strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Liaison & Translation: Act as the primary point of contact between Biometrics business stakeholders and Data Engineering teams, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions.
- Domain Expertise: Bring strong domain expertise in Clinical Data Management, including hands-on knowledge of EDC systems and SDTM standards, to inform solution design and decision-making.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, then translate them into clear technical requirements and user stories for engineering teams.
- Data Product Design Support: Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects by providing the right guidance and clinical input to support the technical team in designing and delivering data products that meet clinical needs.
- Clinical Data Guidance: Provide guidance on clinical data workflows, standards, and data integration requirements across the clinical domain.
- Solution Validation & Adoption: Support solution validation, testing, and stakeholder alignment to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of data engineering products.
- Clinical Data Strategy: Drive clinical data strategy through the implementation of clinical data standards, data domains, and data governance to develop AI-ready datasets.
Required Qualifications
- Proven domain expertise in Clinical Data Management
- Hands-on experience with EDC systems and SDTM standards
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document business requirements and convert them into technical specifications and user stories
- Experience collaborating with data engineering and architecture teams to support data product delivery
- Working knowledge of clinical data workflows, data integration, data standards, and data governance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences
