About The Role
Techno is seeking a qualified Electrical Inspector to support roadway lighting improvements at Interchange No. 9 in East Brunswick, NJ. This project involves supervision of construction services for critical lighting infrastructure upgrades along a high-traffic transportation corridor.
We are prioritizing candidates holding an active Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license, though individuals with an Electrician’s License and strong inspection experience will also be considered.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and high-quality installation of electrical systems supporting roadway lighting operations.

What You'll Do
- Perform full-time field inspection of electrical construction activities related to roadway lighting systems
- Ensure compliance with NEC, agency specifications, and utility coordination requirements
- Conduct electrical inspections at all critical stages including concealed work, conduit installation, cable pulling, system testing, system completion, and prior to energization
- Inspect materials and workmanship for conformity with contract documents
- Maintain daily records of labor, equipment, and installed quantities
- Prepare detailed daily reports and weekly quantity summaries
- Coordinate, review, and track submittals
- Attend progress meetings as directed
- Perform required material testing and verification
- Utilize the Authority’s eGIS application to enter and maintain daily records of installed equipment and devices, subject to review and approval by the Resident Engineer
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant electrical inspection or construction experience
- Active DCA Electrical Inspector License OR Active Professional Engineer (Electrical) license
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience inspecting roadway lighting, traffic systems, or transportation-related electrical Infrastructure
- Proven experience maintaining field documentation and quantity tracking
- Comfortable utilizing digital reporting systems and GIS-based applications
- Previous experience with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and familiarity with NJTA standards and construction procedures is highly preferred.
