Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests related to the color cell and analyze test data by performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to those listed below.
Duties
- Calculate the plating solution's volume, concentration, current density, quantity and rate of metal deposition, when preparing color plating units.
- Adds chemicals to process solutions or product batches to correct or establish formulation required to meet specifications.
- Prepares chemical solutions for use in processing parts, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
- Give the technical support to the production operators (color cell).
- Analyses operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost.
- Order laboratory analysis and does any other necessary procedures to correct the problems.
- Work continuously with operators to improve the process and resolve the issues.
- Directs activities of workers who operate and control such equipment as pumps, filter casings, valves, tanks, rectifiers, heating coils to effect required chemical or physical change.
- Plans measurement and control systems for color plating baths based on data collected in laboratory experiments and pilot plant operations.
- Oversees the safety guidelines and enforcement of the safety code in relation to chemical processes and laboratory procedures.
- Performs chemical analysis of the plating line processing tanks to ensure proper chemical content.
- Documents and maintains records of the analysis and chemical additions.
- Ensures that tools or equipment that does not have the appropriate calibration label are not used.
Requirements
- High school
- Associate's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3 years of laboratory experience
- Experience handling chemicals
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Tools)
- Bilingual Spanish – English
