Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, prototyping, testing, and production of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role will support both new product development and existing product improvements in a fast-paced engineering environment.
The right engineer will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and design through prototyping, validation, documentation, production support, and ongoing product improvement. Engineers in this role are expected to work closely with hardware, participate in physical builds and testing, and contribute across multiple phases of engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities- Design and develop new mechanical parts, assemblies, and products using sound engineering principles
- Improve or modify existing parts, products, and systems for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, including concept, development, prototyping, testing, validation, production support, and sustainment
- Create and maintain technical data packages including:
- engineering/manufacturing drawings
- bills of materials
- assembly documentation
- manufacturing process documentation
- work instructions
- Support prototype builds, physical assembly, testing, evaluation, and first article activities
- Help establish and execute verification and validation plans and test activities
- Support design reviews and prepare reports/summaries for design, testing, and validation milestones
- Coordinate prototype parts and assemblies for testing and evaluation
- Troubleshoot mechanical design issues and support corrective action efforts
- Participate in root-cause investigations related to:
- non-conforming product
- production deficiencies
- supplier/vendor issues
- field or customer-reported mechanical defects
- Support engineering change requests and design updates
- Interface cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, inspection, programs, vendors, and customers on technical matters
- Assist with development of project scopes, technical specifications, and statements of work as needed
- Review technical materials and documentation for accuracy and feasibility
- Handle technical data in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations
- Strong hands-on proficiency using SolidWorks for mechanical design
- Ability to create and manage 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and technical documentation
- Experience designing complex moving mechanical systems, assemblies, and mechanisms
- Strong understanding of machine design principles, statics, dynamics, kinematics, and mechanical function
- Experience supporting or integrating electromechanical systems
- Exposure to motion systems, motor-driven assemblies, or automation-related hardware
- Experience with brushless servo motor systems is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology
- or another closely related engineering field
- 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a related engineering, product development, or manufacturing environment
- Strong working proficiency with SolidWorks
- Demonstrated mechanical design capability, especially in machine design, mechanisms, or moving assemblies
- Hands-on engineering mindset with willingness to support prototyping, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering fundamentals including:
- statics
- strength of materials
- machine design
- mechanical systems implementation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to write clearly and communicate technical concepts, requirements, and procedures effectively
- Proficiency with common hand tools
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly in an environment with limited formal training documentation
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with the broader engineering team
- 5–10 years of experience in aerospace, defense, military, robotics, automation, or other high-complexity product environments
- Strong experience with electromechanical systems
- Experience integrating or specifying brushless servo motor systems
- Experience with motion systems, automation systems, or motor-driven mechanical assemblies
- Experience supporting prototype builds and hands-on mechanical development
- Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM / EPDM
- Familiarity with ANSI Y14 drafting standards
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Working knowledge of:
- kinematics
- dynamics
- finite element analysis
- design for manufacturing
- Familiarity with environmental or durability test standards
- Previous experience in highly regulated product environments is a plus

Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily based in an office and engineering environment but may also involve time in:

Conditions may include exposure to:

Occasional overtime, weekend work, and overnight travel may be required.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
