What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Controls Manager position at Technical Source?
Technical Source is looking for an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead project controls on a large design project in re-baselining phase. You will serve as the single point of contact for schedule and cost management, leading a team of 5-6 schedulers and cost analysts. You’ll integrate cost and schedule impacts, identify scope gaps, and support project management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Management: Review, validate, and maintain project schedule baseline using P6; identify missing scope and critical path gaps
- Cost Integration: Oversee cost baseline; integrate cost and schedule impacts; analyze change order implications
- Team Leadership: Lead schedulers and cost analysts; coordinate priorities and ensure alignment
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide project controls analysis and recommendations to project leadership
- Risk Analysis: Identify schedule and cost risks; perform impact analysis; develop mitigation strategies
- Baselining: Lead re-baselining efforts in response to scope changes
Required Qualifications
- 10-12 years project controls leadership experience
- 5 years managing teams (schedulers, cost analysts, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent
- Strong cost management and earned value management (EVM) knowledge
- Proven ability to integrate cost and schedule functions
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or DASM certification
- Pharmaceutical or industrial project experience
- Commissioning/validation phase experience
Location & Travel
- Preferred: St. Louis area
- Remote: Considered with significant on-site presence required initially
- Travel: Monthly to Puerto Rico (expenses covered)
