Technical Sales Representative

Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative for our client in the Pittsburgh, PA area.JOB SUMMARY:This position has several purposes. A primary purpose is the development and maintenance of the client base. Other purposes include: the search for new opportunities, a sounding board for client comments, and in general, 'spread the word' about the benefits of the organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Technical Sales Representative is responsible for the development and maintenance of an organized sales effort that will be focused on the services provided by Engineering and Integrated Solutions, including their panel shop. Serving clients in the following industries: Metals, chemical, renewables, natural gas, glass, and other manufacturing. The position requires sales calls for face-to-face contact, attendance at functions that provide exposure to the client base, involvement in organizations that may benefit our company, and relay of customer wants, needs, comments, and concerns back to the management staff. The focus of this individual will be developing new opportunities for engineering and automation (panel shop) that are a good fit for our skillsets and area of expertise.SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSPeople skills are a must for this position. A working knowledge of Engineering and Construction methods is vital. Engineering and Construction experience helps establish customer confidence. Education in related fields is helpful, but practical experience may prove more valuable. Knowledge of Original Equipment Suppliers (OEMs) in our industries is a plus.INTER-RELATIONSHIPSPosition requires involvement with all personnel in the organization. Must be able to communicate with management and all levels of staff to understandNEEDED ATTRIBUTESThe Position requires a person who is personable, approachable, able to listen, and confident. Must be able to balance aggressiveness and patience. A positive outlook and sense of humor are a plus.
