TPG is now seeking a motivated, dependable Prototype Diesel Technician who will support heavy vehicle testing, performance and maintenance in Commerce City, CO. Successful candidates will perform maintenance and repairs on pre-production test vehicles, conduct safety inspections, perform specialized test procedures and document findings on reports in a clear and concise manner.

- Perform instructed tests and repairs with great attention to detail
- Document tests, repairs, and configurations in descriptive and understandable notes
- Fabricate and install instrumentation as required to perform tests
- Must be flexible and willing to travel and/or drive a tractor-trailer for full shifts when needed
- Other duties as assigned; cleaning shop, oil changes, engine overhauls, driving, etc.
- Minimum of two years of heavy-duty diesel technician experience.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic software and tool, with the ability and willingness to learn new diagnostic platforms as required.
- Ability to perform annual (FAI) inspections on all commercial motor vehicles (CMV), systems or components.
- Willing and able to conduct weekly/monthly preventative maintenance inspections as communicated by engineering.
- Be prepared to work weekends or overtime if test validation is necessary
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, dedicated to assignments, and strongly committed to safety and quality
- Proficient with PC hardware and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and capable of interfacing with data collection and diagnostic devices
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally in a fast-paced, diverse, and technically challenging environment
- Strong command of the English language, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including technical documentation
- Machine shop experience and basic fabrication skills preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid, active driver's license
- CDL Class A license preferred but not required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred
- Must maintain a clean motor vehicle driving record
- Must be able to operate company-owned vehicles in compliance with all motor vehicle laws and company policies.
- Must be able to provide mobile support (service calls) to disabled vehicles as needed.
- General working knowledge of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs)
- Willingness to travel away from dedicated home test facility. Travel includes Alaska, Las Vegas, Indiana and other states.
- Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to be drug-free and pass DOT drug screening prior to employment
- Standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving items of up to 50 lbs. and more
- Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels
- The environment may be dusty, noisy and open to interior and exterior temperature change
