What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Clerk position at Technical Placements?
•Obtain three quotes for supply items
•Place orders with appropriate suppliers
•Review on order reports and expedite deliveries with suppliers
•Take remedial action where necessary to ensure suppliers deliver stock on time
•Familiarize yourself with items in the workplace & monitor for consolidation of stock items
•Negotiate terms and place orders
•Monitor supplier performance in respect of pricing.
•Periodically check prices with other suppliers to ensure best prices are obtained.
•Periodically liaise with vendors to ensure their capability to meet commitments.
•Liaise with vendor representatives.
•Contact Suppliers in case of queries with suppliers supplying serial material
•Support costing for new material in design phase
•Participate in kick-off meetings for new projects
•Function as a contact person for Technical/ Sales & Costing / Planning regarding serial materials.
•Processing of Scheduling agreements.
•Loading of Budget assumptions
•Preparing, sending and negotiating RFQ’s with Tooling Suppliers
•Loading new vendors on SAP
•Updating of surcharges on Steel purchases
•Loading new part numbers on SAP
•Run MRP report, verify requisitions, convert into PO’s and place order.
