What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at Technical-Link N. America?
I’m looking for Senior Mechanical Engineers with experience in electronics packaging design (ideally with expertise in space, vibration, thermal management, PCB/A, metal enclosures)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- In this position, you will own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical/RF design concept to production & unit delivery
- Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments
- Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution
- 3–5 years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and/or manufacturing
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SolidWorks
- Solid knowledge of GD&T
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline
- 5 years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications
- Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturing
- Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production
- Rapid prototyping & design iteration
- Working closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assemblies
- Working on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
