Position Overview:
As an Industrial Hygiene Associate, you will operate in a hybrid role that combines hands-on technical execution with field leadership and project coordination. This position is designed for a high-performing industrial hygiene professional who is ready to step beyond pure fieldwork and begin developing supervisory and operational ownership.
On a weekly basis, you will spend approximately three days in the field performing industrial hygiene assessments, sampling, and evaluations across a range of environments. One day will be dedicated to leading and developing field technicians, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to TES quality standards. The remaining time will focus on project preparation, including reviewing scopes, coordinating logistics, validating sample plans, and auditing ongoing work for accuracy and compliance.
This role is not purely executional. You are expected to think critically in the field, identify gaps, solve problems in real time, and ensure the data being generated is technically sound and defensible. You will serve as a bridge between field technicians and technical leadership, helping elevate the overall quality, consistency, and professionalism of our field operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct industrial hygiene fieldwork including air monitoring, noise assessments, heat stress evaluations, NORM sampling, ventilation verifications, and other exposure sampling using various regulatory and non-regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain IH instrumentation including pumps, gas monitors, noise dosimeters, and sampling media.
- Coordinate the setup and logistics to have a successful project to include site entry requirements, equipment mobilization, documentation submittals.
- Audit field notes and provide prompt feedback to ensure the success of the project.
- Interface with clients to ensure a successful project to include as-needed communications regarding project execution, project timelines, and project budget.
- Manage the project data and develop employee notifications on time per TES requirements.
- Interface with TES Leadership to understand the strategy and messaging and communicate messaging to direct reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensure direct reports feel connected to TES, and ensure compliance with site-specific and TES protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field required.
- Minimum 2 years of IH field experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Supervisory experience can also come from serving on a trade association board.
- Proficiency with common IH instruments and sampling protocols.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926, ACGIH TLVs®, and NIOSH methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to access secure industrial sites (DISA, TWIC, etc.).
