Job Overview
We are looking for an individual with a great work ethic, self-motivation, strong organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, and computer skills. Basic job duties include, but are not limited to, communicating with internal customers in person/phone/email; entering parts onto work orders; tracking open work orders/jobs; purchasing special-order items; and looking up parts in manuals if numbers are not provided at the time of request. In this role, you would also be responsible for following a schedule provided by department managers to ensure jobs are entered and released to the warehouse for shipping/staging to meet the request dates. Communication will be a big part of this position as well to maintain set delivery dates.
This job is based in the oil and gas industry, and the majority of the parts requests will be based around natural gas engines and compressors of various manufacturers.
Must-Have Experience
- Prior experience working in a parts counter, warehouse, inventory, purchasing, or customer service role, with the ability to look up, identify, order, and track parts accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Look up compressor, engine, and equipment parts in manuals.
- Process purchase and work orders in the ERP system; track orders, backorders, parts availability, and records.
- Support inventories and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, safe warehouse, parts, and work areas.
- Follow company, customer, ISO, and Responsible Care safety and management system requirements.
- Use computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets, and other office equipment.
- Participate in future on-call rotation, if required.
- Work full-time, with possible overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of natural gas engines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, parts, and systems.
- Experience with compressor and engine diagnostics, repair support, parts identification, and troubleshooting.
- Gas compression, production, pipeline, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Proficient with inventory systems, ERP/CMMS platforms, Microsoft Office, and basic order calculations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with technicians, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Skilled in vendor coordination, parts sourcing, negotiation, and relationship building.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, inventory control, order fulfillment, and recordkeeping skills.
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
This position supports natural gas compressor and engine operations through parts identification, order processing, inventory control, vendor coordination, and customer service. The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
