Field Technician, Gas Industry - Intermediate Level

Join our dynamic team as an Intermediate Level Field Technician and become a vital part of our team. Technical Compliance Solutions (TCS) is a full-service Natural Gas Compression company. We are seeking entry-level candidates for a Field Mechanic position with a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.

Duties

The ideal candidate will collaborate with our senior field technicians. Their key responsibilities are to maintain a safe and well-organized work environment. Perform call outs (CO). Diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems on multiple natural gas engines, compressors, and pumps, as well as reassembling them. They will also engage in DOT-regulated driving. Additionally, the candidate will complete and submit required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience with Excel
• Demonstrate proficiency in accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
• Perform call outs (CO) without assistance from technical experts.
• Perform Major Maintenance (MM).
• Show track record of performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) with no guidance and minimal COs due to poor PM work.
• Keen understanding of engines and compressors.
• Experience with small hand tools, ½ drive and smaller sockets, wrenches, etc.
• Candidates are required to successfully pass a DOT drug test and go through a Federal Background Check before employment.
• Demonstrate customer service skills.
• The position requires shopwork, field work, and associated travel.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently on-site.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel frequently to various job sites.
• Candidates must be able to lift and carry a 50-pound load, climb ladders, have strong problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working at heights.
• Office responsibilities may include inputting data into Excel® spreadsheets, equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance.
• The position requires working in a team setting, completing responsibilities, strong written and oral communication skills, and strong computer skills, including engine specific software (Cat and Waukesha), Internet Explorer and Outlook.
• Knowledge of training in HSE procedures and regulations

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
