What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media & Community Manager position at Technical Authentication & Grading (TAG)?
Company: TAG (Technical Authentication & Grading) Location: Marina del Rey, CA — Hybrid (3 days in-office) Reports to: Co-Founder & CMO
Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base, commensurate with experience
TAG Grading is the most technologically advanced card grading company in the hobby. We built an automated grading system from the ground up — one that aims to eliminate subjectivity, documents every flaw, and gives collectors the clarity and confidence legacy graders never could. We're growing fast, investing heavily, and building the infrastructure to match the trust our collectors have placed in us.
The RoleWe're hiring our first dedicated marketing hire to execute TAG's day-to-day social and community presence. Working closely with our CMO, you'll ship the content, manage the inbound, run the giveaways, and keep the TAG voice consistent across every channel we live on. Strategy and creative direction come from above — your job is to make it happen, quickly and well. You'll partner with our designer/content creator for polished visual work, but you'll be the writer, planner, and community presence day-to-day.
What You'll Do- Execute the content calendar across Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, etc.
- Draft captions, copy, and post-level content against creative direction from leadership
- Capture quick-turn content from the grading floor (Reels, Stories, behind-the-scenes moments) and create simple graphics in Canva as needed
- Manage day-to-day DMs, comments, and replies — escalating sensitive moments as needed
- Execute giveaways, campaigns, and partnership content as initiatives come online
- Support influencer and creator outreach
- Brief and coordinate (or self-produce) with designers/content creator on polished assets and video production
- Run weekly performance reporting
This is not an entry-level role. We're hiring someone who's already done this work professionally and is ready to step into a role where they can move quickly without close oversight.
- 3–6 years of professional experience running social media for a brand, company, or agency — not personal accounts or side projects. You've owned a brand's content calendar, voice, and community at scale.
- Genuine fluency in trading cards, collectibles, or an adjacent hobby community (sneakers, comics, sports memorabilia, gaming)
- Strong writer with a portfolio of work you've shipped
- Working comfort with Canva and basic in-platform content capture (Reels, Stories, TikTok)
- Calm and considered in public-facing moments
- Strong executor who takes direction well and ships fast
- Hybrid schedule, 3 days at our Marina del Rey office
- Competitive base, full benefits, and growth path on a marketing team being built from the ground up at a company with explosive growth.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
