Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical/Controls Engineer to join our Atlanta, GA branch. This is a hands-on role responsible for providing electrical and controls engineering expertise throughout project design, commissioning, and start-up.
The position will primarily support client sites in Atlanta, with occasional travel (approximately 10–15%) to out-of-state client locations, as well as some weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles to both existing and proposed processes while collaborating with clients, vendors, and consultants.
- Lead and support projects primarily focused on process systems, with some work in packaging systems, across industries such as food & beverage, chemical, and others.
- Execute all phases of electrical controls projects—independently or as part of a team—including control system design, programming, documentation, and on-site start-up of integrated systems.
- Design and upgrade PLC and HMI control systems.
- Develop electrical schematics, design control panels, prepare electrical installation bid packages, and oversee installation activities.
- Deliver projects on aggressive schedules while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with strict standards.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related.
- 7 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a consultant and hands-on project execution environment.
- Must possess eagerness to research new equipment, processes and technologies.
- Need to be energetic, positive, self-motivated and capable of work with little supervision.
- Supervise fabrication & installation activities
- Support production start-ups to ensure that they meet safe operational and functional requirements for the project.
- Food/Beverage/Chemical industry experience requested
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
- Experience designing industrial control systems including generating Electrical Control panel design, Electrical Schematics, MCC layouts, etc.
- Experience in designing and troubleshooting Rockwell VFDs
- Experience in specifying field devices and sensors
- Experience in creating, modifying, and troubleshooting PLCs such as Rockwell Automation’s ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PLC 5 and SLC
- Experience in creating, modifying, and troubleshooting HMI/SCADA systems such as FTView, iFix, Wonderware, etc.
- Experience in designing and troubleshooting communication networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, ASi, ModBus, etc.
- Experience in designing & tuning PID control loops
- Experience with S88 and S95 control software design is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to professional ethics.
Essential Functions
- Fieldwork is required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, walk over crossovers, and access equipment.
- Must be capable of walking the distance from parking lot to designated job area in addition to walking throughout a large manufacturing plant during course of day for required meetings and other required duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and motor vehicle report (MVR) according to company and client policies.
