What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Designer position at Technibus, Inc.?
Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive accuracy and consistency across the engineering department
- Review project files for design accuracy and efficiency
- Compare specifications to meet customer and quality requirements
- Coordinate schedules and interface with internal and external customers
- Requisition buyout materials per job
- Generate and transmit customer drawings
- Generate shop fabrication drawings and full bills of materials (BOM)
- Support production and assembly as required
- Use of the Auto CAD and Inventor 3D Software
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in design software, Auto CAD, Inventor programs, or comparable 3D design software
- Working knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEMA/UL/IEC standards
- Experience in mechanical design such as assembly design, generation of plot drawings, and copper bus bar design
- Successful Project management; coordination with customer issues, shop schedules, and production issues
- Basic electrical design such as voltages and amperes as well as the effects on metal enclosures preferred
- Blueprint reading; customer and civil drawings, transformers, switchgear, generator, PCC building arrangements and MCC
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Salary based on experience and education.
- CAD Software experience such as Inventor, Solid works, & Auto CAD
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
