TECHNE is supporting a rapidly scaling climate technology company in the search for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their hardware team, helping develop one of the most ambitious climate technology platforms currently being deployed globally.

The company is building autonomous drone systems capable of inducing and validating rainfall in real-time through advanced atmospheric water generation technology. Their platform combines aerospace-grade hardware, embedded systems, sensing technology, weather radar, and proprietary software to address one of the world’s most urgent infrastructure challenges: water scarcity.

This role sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, embedded systems, aerospace hardware, power electronics, and climate technology. You will play a critical role in architecting and deploying the electrical systems powering next generation drone platforms.

You will work across hardware, software, manufacturing, research, and flight operations teams to deliver mission-critical systems operating in some of the harshest environmental conditions on earth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and design of complex electrical systems across UAV, sensing, and dispersion platforms

• Design and develop PCBs for power distribution, sensing interfaces, communications modules, and payload controllers

• Own hardware development from concept through fabrication, bring-up, testing, and flight validation

• Support rapid prototyping and iterative hardware development cycles

• Develop documentation, test procedures, and manufacturing-ready design packages

• Collaborate closely with mechanical, embedded software, manufacturing, and science teams

• Support electrical system integration, debugging, and validation activities across flight hardware platforms

• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical reviews and system-level decision making

Required Experience:

• Professional experience within electrical engineering, embedded systems, aerospace, robotics, or safety-critical hardware environments

• Strong PCB design experience using Altium or equivalent tools

• Experience developing digital, mixed-signal, or analog electrical systems from concept through manufacturing

• Strong understanding of embedded platforms and low-level hardware integration

• Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities

• Knowledge of power integrity, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and system-level electrical design

• Embedded programming experience using C, C , Rust, or Python

• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering environments

Desirable Experience:

• UAV or aerospace electrical systems development

• Power electronics, motor controllers, ESCs, or BMS systems

• RF systems, telemetry, SATCOM, or antenna integration

• High-power PCB design and electrical architecture

• Lithium-ion or advanced battery integration and safety systems

• Pixhawk, ArduPilot, or custom autopilot hardware experience

• Real-time control systems and embedded communications protocols, including SPI, I2C, UART, or CAN
