What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Software Engineer position at Technacity Group?
Our client is redefining fulfillment, warehousing, and logistics with robot-powered operations built for speed, scale, and accuracy. E-commerce brands depend on them to move inventory, process orders, and deliver same-day shipping across key metro markets. As they launch and scale their platform, you’ll be joining a lean, high-velocity team—and influencing everything they build.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly capable Founding Software Engineer with strong backend skills in Python/Django and a willingness to roll up their sleeves across the stack (including frontend when needed). You’ll work closely with the CTO to design, build, and scale our core platform. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape engineering culture, deliver mission-critical systems, and help our business and operations move faster.
Key Responsibilities
-
Architect, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python and Django to support core logistics, fulfillment, order management, and operational workflows.
-
Own infrastructure on AWS: design scalable, secure, and high-availability services that meet operational SLAs.
-
Take ownership of both backend and frontend development as the sole engineer, implementing product features end-to-end and ensuring smooth, high-quality user experiences.
-
Work directly with the CTO to define the technical roadmap, deliver features end-to-end, and iterate quickly based on business feedback.
-
Build engineering practices and standards: code review frameworks, documentation, observability (logging, monitoring), CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization.
-
Be a key voice in shaping the engineering culture—from hiring decisions to team norms—setting the bar for quality, ownership, and collaboration.
-
Support operations/data efforts: engage directly with stakeholders (product, operations, warehouse/logistics teams) to translate real-world fulfillment challenges into scalable software solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
-
5 years of software engineering experience, with strong backend expertise in Python and Django.
-
Proven experience working in production environments on AWS with responsibility for architecture, scalability, and reliability.
-
Comfortable working across the stack: though backend is primary, you can contribute effectively to the frontend when needed.
-
Experience delivering end-to-end systems—from database to APIs to UI and deployment.
-
Excellent problem-solving mindset: you thrive on solving complex infrastructure/data challenges and iterating quickly.
-
Strong communication skills and ability to partner with business, product, and ops stakeholders.
-
Self-starter and team player: able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with leadership.
-
Commitment to onsite work 5 days per week in Concord, CA.
Nice-to-Haves
-
Prior experience in logistics, fulfillment, warehousing, or 3PL systems.
-
Familiarity with React, TypeScript, or modern frontend frameworks.
-
Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, or real-time data systems.
-
Interest in robotics, AI, physical systems, or operational automation.
Why You’ll Love It Here
-
Be the first engineer helping to build the foundation of a high-growth startup.
-
Direct impact: your work will power real fulfillment operations and robotic systems in production.
-
Work side-by-side with the CTO and leadership team to shape both product and culture.
-
Opportunity for growth: as the company scales, you’ll be positioned to lead and grow the engineering organization.
