Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting.The Controller will manage the accounting operations of Techmark, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure that these results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will ensure internal controls are in place and maintained to confirm that Techmark's decisions and planning activities are done in support of its objectives. As a key member of our team, you will drive continuous improvement in financial processes and foster a culture of accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain a documented system of financial policies and procedures ensuring all regulatory compliance.
- Create and complete financial reporting systems (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual) and assess financial performance through monitoring performance measures and making financial projections.
- Monitor and control cash flow, credit and debt.
- Process Payroll and employee benefits.
- Process invoicing and accounts receivable and oversee accounts payable.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to policies.
- Act as risk management coordinator and maintain all insurance policies, communications and compliance with insurance companies, agents and auditors.
- Support budgeting processes by providing insightful financial analysis and forecasts to aid strategic decision-making.
- Manage any outsourced financial activities.
- Prepare data for, and review and approve yearly Corporate 1120 Return prepared by CPA firm.
- Monitor the sales tax laws, collection, filing, and remittance for all states Techmark maintains a presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proficiency in using ERP, Payroll and Accounting Software.
- Proven expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and technical accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities for clear financial report writing.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstration of customer service abilities.
