Business Development Manager
Location: In-Office | Goshen Indiana (Local Presence Required)

About the Role
TechKnowledgey is looking for someone who loves building new business relationships.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing TechKnowledgey through real, in-person relationships by bringing on new customers, strengthening underperforming existing accounts, and owning the customer relationship through the first 13 months before handing it off cleanly to the Service and Customer Success teams.
A successful BDM will possess resilience and a natural ability to listen and understand the customers meeting them where they are so we can get them to where they want to be. A fast sales cycle in our business is 90 days.
Why This Role Exists
Historically, TechKnowledgey’s Founder carried responsibilities of business development and early-stage client relationships. As the company has grown, that approach has remained effective but it no longer scales without becoming the constraint to our growth. Rather than dilute relationships or change how we do business, TechKnowledgey is intentionally expanding its relational capacity.
This role exists to extend the founder’s relationship-driven approach, allowing the business to grow while preserving its culture, quality of service, and long-term trust with customers.
Growth Objectives
- Support the addition of /- 20 customers at an average of $1,000/MRR to 200K/yr of new managed service business.
- Bring 12–15 new customers into the business annually
- Grow 5–7 existing customers in the bottom 25% of our existing account list.
- The growth target can be hit by earning smaller accounts or fewer large accounts in our target market of privately held businesses with 10 to 200 employees.
Core Responsibility - Build New Business Relationships
- Develop and execute a clear, intentional plan for business relationship building.
- Track your activities and communicate who you are targeting and why you think they fit our ideal customer profile.
- Maintain an active presence in the community through in-person meetings, events, and introductions
- Break through digital barriers by converting emails and messages into real face to face conversations
- Serve as the first point of contact for inbound leads
- Qualify and respectfully disqualify opportunities based on our ICP
- Own the first 13 months of the customer relationship.

- Reduced reliance on the founder for early sales and relationship management

Compensation
This role includes a base salary with performance-based incentives. For a candidate who consistently meets growth objectives, this is a /- 100K/yr position.
The specific mix of salary and performance-based compensation will be determined during the interview process, based on experience, approach, and alignment with the role.
