What are the responsibilities and job description for the San Francisco Bay Area Summer LEGO & Tech Camp Teachers position at TechKnowHow?
Take your love for tech and children and turn it into a fun and rewarding experience during the summer! TechKnowHow, a leader in tech-focused classes for the San Francisco Bay Area, is looking for individuals to teach hands-on LEGO and Game-making using Scratch, to children ages 5-10. We’ll train you on how to teach the curriculum, lead team-building activities, and mentor your group. If you love both tech and kids, we want you to join our team to equip young people with the tools and ability to create awesome projects.
We are seeking a lead instructor who knows Minecraft.
We do not provide housing.
SCHEDULE: - Weeks available: June 19 and June 26 in Oakland and 7/10, 7/17 and 7/24 in Pleasanton. Work hours are typically 8:30-4, Monday - Friday. Ideal candidate is available all those weeks.
LOCATIONS: Position available in Oakland for 2 weeks, then Pleasanton for 3 weeks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Assist a group of students in specific camp programs and activities, including teaching, guiding and helping students with projects. - Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers assigned to your classroom. - Set-up classroom on Monday mornings and pack-up classroom on Friday. - Supervise outdoor break and lunchtime activities. - Ensure that camp activities are running smoothly. - Perform other duties as deemed necessary for successful execution of programs. Follow all safety and health guidelines.
Qualifications: - Currently pursuing or has completed college degree: Has experience working with kids. Has interest in LEGOs and/or technology - Has desire to teach and work with students on tech projects. Knowledge of Minecraft.

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff need to be fully vaccinated or wear a mask/test regularly. Equipment cleaned nightly. Classroom doors left open for increased ventilation.
