Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) process to create high-quality metal assemblies and components. Your expertise will ensure that all welds meet strict safety, quality, and technical standards, contributing to the successful completion of construction and fabrication projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring mechanical knowledge, technical skill, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures.
- Perform TIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, adhering to American Welding Society (AWS) standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise measurements and fit-up prior to welding.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding or fabrication.
- Maintain safety protocol adherence by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following construction site safety procedures at all times.
- Conduct quality inspections of welds using measuring instruments like gauges and calipers to verify conformance with specifications.
- Assist in assembly, fabrication, and installation tasks on construction sites or in fabrication shops as needed.
- Pre-cutting / Pre-assembling.
- Complete welds on pipes according to specified standards.Capable to weld with electric arc, MIG, TIG.Capable to remove weld using Arc gouging.Capable to weld carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass.Weld pipes or pieces that the Pipe fitter has put together as an assembly.Weld hydraulic pipes that hold up to 6000 psi.Weld structural beams according to specifications.Use disc grinder to smooth out or grind parts prior to welding.Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.Grind or clean weld joint of work piece.
- Skills
- Extensive experience with TIG welding across various metals and thicknesses; familiarity with welding techniques preferred.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math for accurate fabrication work.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols along with experience working in construction or fabrication environments.
- Skilled in operating power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings related to mechanical fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication techniques, machining processes, plasma cutting operations, and assembly procedures.
