We are seeking a Data Product Owner to lead data initiatives aligned with engineering and analytics teams, with a strong focus on Master Data Management (MDM) domains such as customer, product, location, and transactional data. This role requires a technically fluent product owner who can operate in ambiguity, lead problem definition, and build multi-year roadmaps that drive enterprise data strategy.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of product ownership, business analysis, and delivery leadership, with experience supporting large-scale data environments in retail or similar industries.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of data initiatives, from problem framing and requirements gathering through execution and delivery.
- Lead workshops and working sessions with business stakeholders to define unclear or evolving requirements.
- Translate business needs into structured backlogs, user stories, and multi-year product roadmaps.
- Act as the primary interface between business partners and technical teams, ensuring alignment and clarity across all stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives across key MDM domains, including customer, item/product, location, invoice, and sales data.
- Oversee ELT-based data initiatives within hybrid cloud environments, ensuring scalable and efficient data flows.
- Use SQL to explore datasets, validate logic, and support requirement accuracy and data integrity.
- Establish and standardize product management practices, including backlog governance, roadmap frameworks, and stakeholder engagement models.
- Track and report on delivery KPIs (e.g., cycle time, throughput, team performance) to support a maturing product organization.
- Define and manage OKRs to align team output with business outcomes.
- Operate independently on smaller initiatives without reliance on centralized PMO structures.
