Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to provide day-to-day technical support for local and remote employees, with a strong focus on desktop, laptop, mobile device, hardware, and software support. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in Windows and macOS environments and comfortable supporting iPhone and Android devices.
This is a fully onsite position requiring 5 days per week in the Austin, TX office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware and software issues involving laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- Support Windows, macOS, iPhone, and Android platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Manage hardware and software inventory, asset tracking, shipping, and receipt of IT equipment.
- Assist with deployment and rollout of new systems, applications, and hardware to end users and groups.
- Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security within the desktop environment.
- Support and maintain network equipment, phones, and teleconference/conferencing equipment.
- Assist with computer room and data center operational activities.
- Provide support for Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, OneNote, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user instructions, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-base materials.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users.
- Handle technical initiatives from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Maintain strong organization, documentation, and accountability across assigned responsibilities.
- Provide occasional support at an additional Austin-area office, as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience as a System Administrator, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
- Fully proficient with Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Strong experience supporting iPhone and Android devices.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly:
- Microsoft Excel
- OneNote
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- Thorough understanding of PC hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with IT asset and inventory management.
- Experience supporting network, phone, and conference-room/teleconference equipment.
- Strong technical documentation and troubleshooting documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage technical assignments with minimal supervision.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional with strong Windows/macOS desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, mobile device support, Microsoft Office, asset management, and end-user support experience. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced environment and independently handling technical issues from identification through resolution.
