1. Technical Drawing & Standards Proficiency
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and associated product definition, including:
- Dimensions and tolerances
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Surface finish symbols, notes, and special requirements
2. Inspection & Measurement Skills
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, including:
- Calipers, micrometers, height gauges
- Bore gauges, pin gauges, and depth gauges
- Dial indicators and comparators
- Knowledge of measurement system capability and basic metrology principles
3. Quality Systems & Documentation
- Ability to complete and review:
- Inspection reports
- Nonconformance reports
- Understanding of traceability and documentation control requirements
4. Nonconformance & Corrective Action Awareness
- Ability to identify, document, and clearly communicate nonconforming material
- Ability to work with engineering and prototype coordinators to support disposition decisions
5. Manufacturing Process Awareness
- General knowledge of common manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, forming, finishing)
6. Attention to Detail & Accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to perform high‑accuracy inspections with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail when comparing physical parts to drawing requirements
- Commitment to maintaining objectivity and integrity in inspection results
7. Communication & Collaboration
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a cross‑functional team environment
8. Computer & Data Skills
- Basic proficiency with:
- SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Ability to accurately enter, review, and retrieve inspection data
