Scientist - Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry (Job ID: 247)

Job ID: 247Location: Alameda, CAContract: 6 Months (Renewable)SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:On a day-to-day basis, scientist is expected to perform a variety of routine and complex analytical experiments using HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, UV-Vis, FT-IR, Dissolution etc.           • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Agilent LC and MS instruments using Agilent OpenLab and EMPOWER softwares. • Ability to optimize methods, as well as analyze raw materials, intermediates, drug substance and drug product samples accurately in accordance with established methods.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Performing experiments to support drug substance and drug product development and release of finished products.• Analyze data acquired to draw conclusions based on statistical analysis and established quality control criteria.• Document work in ELN in compliance with company procedures and Good Documentation Practices.• Performing duties with commitment to laboratory safety and adherence to best practices is essential.• Occasionally, coordination with service engineers and company facilities team to schedule maintenance of analytical instrumentation is required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:• No supervisory responsibilities requiredEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry or related field with an emphasis in analytical chemistry.• One to five years of chromatography experience in pharmaceutical analytical field is required.• Knowledge and experience in developing and qualifying LC methods utilizing Agilent liquid chromatography instruments is desired.• To be successful in this job, qualities such as willingness to learn, adaptability, and take on new challenges is essential. • Good interpersonal skills, flexibility in a fast-paced environment and ability to work well within a team environment are essential skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.WORKING CONDITIONS:• On-site full time job • Travel not requiredCompany Descriptionwww.techdataservice.com
