Litigation Attorney
Location: Los Angeles, CA, 90008
Job Type: Direct Hire (Onsite)
Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $153,000 – $215,000/year
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our client’s law firm in Los Angeles. The role focuses on medical malpractice litigation, managing all aspects of case preparation (excluding trial and arbitration appearances). The ideal candidate is a licensed California attorney with strong expertise in medicine-related legal matters and the ability to develop effective case strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with trial attorneys on discovery and investigation strategies.
- Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Attend court appearances as required.
- Prepare lawsuits for trial or arbitration support.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and staff counsel.
- Respond to Claims Department “hotline” inquiries and assist with reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Defense Attorney Guidelines.
- Represent CAP/MPT physicians in deposition-only cases.
- Deliver cost-effective case management and defense strategies.
Requirements:
- J.D. degree and license to practice law in California.
- 3–6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
- Excellent mentorship and team-building skills for staff counsel.
- Knowledge of medical, legal, and risk management issues in malpractice cases.
