Selector / Forklift Operator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Benefit Group: FT Non-Management Employee
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Dept: Vending
PRIMARY PURPOSE
An Order Selector is primarily responsible for selecting cases to fulfill orders quickly and accurately. Tasks include the selecting, staging, and loading orders onto truck trailers to be delivered without damage or error. Forklifts, both sit down and stand up, will be used to move pallets from pick slots to loading dock.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Load and unload designated trailers and/or route trucks.
- Move product and/or materials manually as required.
- Sweep floor slots, when needed.
- Change battery in forklift, when applicable
- Keep work area clean
- Clean spills and re-work damage
- Use case cutter to cut tops off cases when needed.
- Slot material in designated storage areas
- Pull material to deliver to production lines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bi-lingual preferred. Basic command of English is required.
- Experience in a fast-paced Production (and Manufacturing) industry preferred
- Follow standard operating/work methods and practice safe work habits
- Flexible and able to work weekends or over-time, as needed
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Punctuality with a demonstrated attendance record
- Experience working in team-oriented environment
- Must have dependable and reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to frequently lift 20 to 50lbs and occasionally up to 90lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk for an up to 10-hour shift, or longer based on business needs.
- Must be able to constantly twist, bend, carry, balance, push, pull, reach overhead, and stoop.
- Must be able to follow standard operating/work methods and practice safe work habits
- Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures.
- All plant positions are required to stand, practice frequent motion of extremities and withstand exposure to heat and cold for extended periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.
