ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a highly motivated Environmental, Health and Safety Intern (EHS) to join our team. You will collaborate with operations and facilities staff, at all levels, to enhance the safety and health of our teams. Under the direct guidance of the Director of EHS, you will gain practical experience by reviewing and updating safety processes.
SHIFT:
This position will be located at our Plymouth, MA facility on the 1st shift, typically 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and update current Job Hazard Assessments (JHA’s)
- Generate JHA’s for tasks that may be missing
- Develop training documentation for use by the area Managers/Supervisors pertaining to JHA’s
- Review and update all current equipment specific Lockout/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, completing 2nd year studies or more.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
Work Conditions & Physical Demands
- Standing and walking several hours per day
- Proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel, power point, etc.)
- Use of handheld equipment such as camera and sound level meters.
- Working within chemical environments.
