We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as a technical authority in the development of advanced, mission-critical systems. This is a hands-on systems engineering role focused on physical product development across mechanical, electrical, and embedded domains.
You will lead system architecture, drive integration efforts, and ensure successful delivery of high-reliability products used in demanding environments where performance is critical.
🎯 What You’ll Do
- Own system architecture and design for complex electromechanical products
- Translate customer needs into system requirements, specifications, and functional architectures
- Lead hardware/software integration across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Develop and execute system-level test plans (V&V) to validate performance and reliability
- Create and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and technical specifications
- Troubleshoot system-level issues across the full product lifecycle (prototype → production)
- Support proposal efforts, technical reviews, and customer-facing discussions
- Partner with program management to define technical scope, risk, and execution strategy
- Mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional technical decision-making
🧠 What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 6 years of experience in systems engineering or related engineering roles
- Strong experience with system architecture, requirements development, and integration
- Experience working on physical systems (mechanical, electrical, embedded)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Integration & testing
- Verification & Validation (V&V)
- Troubleshooting complex systems
- Ability to operate as a technical lead across disciplines
Preferred:
- Experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or medical device systems
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, or similar standards
- Experience with DoD programs or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
- Experience supporting proposals, RFIs, or technical presentations
