Mechanical NX CAD Designer

Requirements

• Work onsite under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter
• Correctly apply the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard across all design work
• Support projects within Client-TD, including:
• PIP-II
• LCLS-II
• LCLS-II HE
• Accelerator Support
• LHC AUP
• SRF
• SC Magnets
• Follow established Design/Drafting procedures while working to meet project schedules and requirements
• Work directly with engineering staff to:
• Research and analyze design solutions
• Coordinate design development
• Specify and select design components and materials

Deliverables

• Design tolerance and stack-up calculations
• Layout designs and detailing
• Advanced level 3D models
• 2D drawings required for the project

Deliverable Format & Quantity

• All 3D models and 2D drawings to be completed in NX1980
• All work to be managed and maintained in Teamcenter
• Quantity of deliverables will be directed by Fermilab on a per-task basis

Quality Assurance

• All work shall be performed in accordance with the Fermilab QAM and Client-TD Design/Drafting Procedures
• All work will be reviewed, checked, and approved by the Fermilab staff responsible for each specific task

Pre-Requirements

• Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in NX1980 CAD via a proficiency interview conducted through the Zoom meeting portal
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Designer
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work products under deadline-driven project conditions
