Minimum Qualifications of Candidate
The Department is seeking a Data Architect professional with the following minimum qualifications (these qualifications must be clearly stated on the resume and verifiable via reference checks):
•
Bachelor's Degree
•
6 years of experience with MS SQL products inclusive of MS SQL 2008
•
Experience as MS SQL database administrator inclusive of data design/modeling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
•
6 years of experience with SQL programming inclusive of stored procedures, functions, triggers, DTS packages, scheduled jobs, and linked servers.
•
6 years of experience with SQL relational databases, OLTP and DSS, serving in high performance, service-oriented, multi-tiered environments.
•
6 years of experience in change management best practices, serving in a code promotion role in partnership with development team.
•
6 years of experience in Web application server system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
•
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
•
Experience with Project Management (Standards, Best Practices, Terms, Tools) is desired.
•
Ability to work well in a team environment with education and technology solutions.
•
Demonstrated experience with implementation projects with the following characteristics:
o
High-profile
o
Multiple technologies and functions
o
Experience working in state government.
o
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and user staff.
Deliverables/Tasks
The Data Architect key deliverables include, but are not limited to, the following:
•
Assists in developing specifications as well as overall planning and management of projects.
•
Meets with leadership to provide status reports on a weekly basis and provides monthly written reports which will include accomplishments, areas of concern, and recommended solutions.
•
Communicate project progress and information to team, sponsor, stakeholders, and legislative body as appropriate.
•
Ensures technical direction and standards are being followed.
•
Develops project plans and measures actual progress against the plans.
•
Assures that project documentation includes the project plans, budgets, risk plans, communication plans, change control logs, and reports.
•
Demonstrates an understanding of tactical goals and effectively participates in the development and implementation of business solutions.
•
Manages project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
•
Manages change control within the projects.
•
Obtains sponsor approval for changes to scope, budget, and schedule that affect the critical path.
•
Written documentation showing testing and verification of modifications to ensure that objectives are met.
