ABOUT PROGRAM:ABOUT PROGRAM:We are seeking enthusiastic applicants for our Summer Camp Technology Assistant positions!Tech Academy teaches week-long technology classes. We offer Minecraft, Movie Making, Video Game Design, Legos, and Robotics classes for students ages 6-14.Ideal applicants for Teacher positions are college students/graduates with experience with elementary-age children or licensed teachers. Ideal applicants for Assistant positions are tech-savvy college students or those qualified for the Lead Teacher position looking for a more relaxed role in the classroom. Many of our past employees were able to use our positions to satisfy internship requirements.You must be available for ALL seven weeks this summer, from June 1st to July 25th. Classes run in-person Monday-Friday, and you will need to be available from 8am to 5pm. You will scheduled 1 to 2 classes each week (between 19-38 hours a week)Training and Equipment:Before teaching or assisting, teachers complete 12 hours of online training on essential camp management and leadership skills . We provided all the equipment and curriculum needed to teach classes.Pay: Teachers $16-$21, Assistants $12-$17 an hour, Prep and training: $7.25 an hourRequirements:Available every weekday from June 9th-July 25th between 8 am and 5pmCollege Student/Graduate majoring in Engineering, Computer Science, Graphic or Visual Arts, Video Game Design or EducationExcellent Communication SkillsExperience with Elementary age childrenYou will be required to complete a local and national background checkBe very comfortable with technology and using computersAble to lift equipment totes weighing up to 40 poundsYou must be very punctual and reliable.Be organized and efficient to run an effective classYou need to be able to work independently and communicate via email and phone with us regularlyPatient, positive personalityPlusses:Knowledge of Legos, Minecraft, Programming, or Robotics experienceBackground in tutoring/coaching kidsResponsibilitiesTeach or Assist Lego Robotics, Minecraft, 3D Printing and coding campsTraining – go through the curriculum and learn itCreate a positive and safe environment in which students can grow and learnSet up and maintain equipment - laptops, Mice, Minecraft, and/or other equipmentDemonstrate leadership and management skills by guiding student projects and activities.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
