Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment including ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, walk-in-coolers/freezers, reach-ins, and ice machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine service tasks under guidance
- Support equipment installations and component replacements as directed
- Accurately document service calls, parts used, and labor hours in the company system
- Communicate professionally with customers while shadowing senior technicians
- Follow EPA, safety, and company compliance standards
- Maintain tools, truck inventory, and job site cleanliness
- Participate in ongoing technical training and development programs
- Assist with emergency service calls alongside experienced technicians as needed
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial cooking and refrigeration service (trade school or field experience welcomed)
- EPA Universal Certification (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or with little supervision
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
- Own industry standard hand tools
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $18-$23 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with prior hands-on commercial cooking and refrigeration experience or relevant technical training may be considered at the higher end of the range.
