School Summary: MassCA Commonwealth of Massachusetts Virtual School is a full-time tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 250 faculty and staff, and serves 3,000 students across grades K-12 across Massachusetts. The Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks: - Complete speech/language evaluations remotely that are age appropriate to the suspected area of disability - Complete reports of evaluation results within the regulatory timelines in accordance with state and federal mandates pertaining to special education - Provide SLP services individually and in small groups - Participate in Team Meetings; contribute to the determination of eligibility for special education services, related services and develop IEP goals and objectives, when appropriate - Contribute to the writing of IEPs - Complete Progress Reports as often as necessary - Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and instruction supplemented with self-paced curriculum work; - Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents and teachers); - Communicate with parents, caretakers, students and other teachers on a regular basis to develop and update IEPs and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, and monitor completion of assignments. - Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully meeting their SLP goals and objectives and are able to generalize in their classes what they have learned. - Develop a strong knowledge of the curriculum - Support students, parents and teachers with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects; - Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all student and parent contacts; - Work with other teachers to coordinate social activities and relevant field trips for students; Develop and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”; - Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing, as directed; - Other duties as assigned.

Salary : $52,359 - $101,385
