Position Summary
TEC is seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead daily operations at our Gainesville manufacturing facility. This role oversees production, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and maintenance activities while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Supervisor serves as the primary onsite operational leader when the Plant Manager is unavailable and plays a critical role in driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
What You'll Do
Operations Leadership
- Lead daily production, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate operations to meet safety, quality, service, and productivity goals.
- Serve as the senior onsite leader when the Plant Manager is offsite.
- Communicate priorities, expectations, and performance goals to the team.
Team Development
- Coach, mentor, and develop frontline employees.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring, training, performance management, and corrective action processes.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate safety, quality, and operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Plant Performance
- Monitor key metrics including safety, production output, OEE, schedule attainment, and inventory accuracy.
- Partner with maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Support capital projects and facility improvement initiatives.
- Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or operations environments.
- 1 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience leading hourly employees in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of production, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and maintenance operations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
- Background in dry powder, chemical, building products, or process manufacturing.
- Experience managing safety programs and operational KPIs.
