CNC Field Service Technician
40-55 hours per week (Base Hourly OT)
$85-100K

Position Summary
Responsible for the mechanical assembly, startup, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance of a variety of applications including metal cutting machines, assembly, test, conveyance, and transfer systems.
Responsibilities
- Understands customer corporate and plant standards required to commission systems.
- Responsible for the overall start-up, commissioning, runoff, and acceptance of machines and systems.
- Responsible for mechanical assembly and integration of components and sub-components up to and including completed machines or systems.
- Responsible for understanding CMM or other inspection data and making effective machine adjustments to achieve output quality requirements.
- Coordinate and review with colleagues to maintain consistency within a given project.
- Checks drawings for errors and reports errors and suggested modification to Engineering as required, within the customer change process guidelines.
- Works within the scope definition and timing requirements.
- Performs troubleshooting and debugging for intermediate to complex machine applications.
Required Skills
- Skilled in mechanical component and sub-component assembly: fixtures, spindles, drives, etc.
- Skilled in CNC machining system fundamentals: axis identification and troubleshooting, etc.
- Understanding of mechanical and fluids drawings, working knowledge of electrical drawings.
- Understanding of Geometric Data and Tolerances (GD&T), CMM reports.
- Experienced with manufacturing processes: metal cutting and assembly/test process.
- Experienced with ISO programming conventions: G-code and M-code part programming
- Highly skilled with conventional measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.
- Skilled with electronic measuring tools: ball-bar, laser, etc.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and wiring fundamentals.
- FANUC and/or Siemens experience required.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in mechanical technology and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Field service experience.
- Must be able to travel domestically, up to 100% as projects require.
