What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer / Land Development Engineer position at TEC Civil Engineering Consultants?
Education/Experience:
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering
- P.E. Certification or ability to obtain licensure; licenses in other states a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant civil engineering experience with a focus on land development, with a background in land development civil site design (commercial and residential), including a combination of site layout, grading and erosion control, private and public utility design, storm-water analysis and design, utility coordination and project permitting.
- Hydraulic analysis including water quality and quantity design as applied to site development projects.
- Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions and other site constraints.
- Experience developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of land development projects and obtaining permits from those agencies.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MS software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
- Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will plan, administer and design small to medium size commercial, residential civil land development projects.
- Prepare conceptual drawings, preliminary designs, feasibility studies and preliminary cost estimates for residential/commercial/municipal projects.
- Perform civil site design tasks as a member of development team: including preliminary designs, tentative mapping, final construction drawings, and coordination with other design consultants.
- Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and that client objectives are met.
- Responsible for writing and overseeing the production of accompanying civil engineering studies and design reports: Storm drainage hydrology & hydraulic reports, sanitary sewer collection system reports, water distribution system hydraulic reports.
- Present projects to clients, agencies, municipalities and the general public at formal and informal meetings.
- Participate in client-rich professional organizations and functions; be a productive member of the community.
- Manages EIT workloads and participates in the development of EITs.

Starting Salary: $67,300.00 - $98,200.00 per year (DOE)
