Maintenance Person

FJR Properties Ltd is a local property management company overseeing several residential and commercial properties.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Person to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs, painting, and maintenance. This is an entry level position. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. Plus, you will have the opportunity to live in one of our newly renovated apartments. Ultimately, he or she is responsible for ensuring the property is in optimal condition as a place that tenants will want to live.

Required Skills:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
• Knowledge of construction materials, equipment operation, and good working knowledge of general building and maintenance skills.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.

Duties:

• Performs maintenance on all areas of the properties, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, HVAC (including ventilation and air quality), painting, carpentry, flooring, tile & grout cleaning, plumbing, and plumbing line replacement.
• Install appliances and equipment.
• Responsible for responding to tenant maintenance requests received from the Property Manager.
• Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Owners as needed.
• Checking for water damage and leaks.
• Testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
• Changing filters in forced air systems.
• Do yard upkeep by mowing, collecting trash etc.
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
• Responsible for identifying and purchasing needed supplies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
