Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (includes 20-min paid lunch)
Pay Rate: $41.00 – $53.00/hr (Includes $1.00/hr shift differential)
Compliance Requirement: US Person status defined by ITAR/EAR

The MES Software Engineer serves as a shop-floor subject matter expert for manufacturing applications and machine integrations. This role plays a critical part in implementing production line systems, building real-time data visualization platforms, and enhancing core MES/Operations/Quality modules.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and maintain Ignition by Inductive Automation applications, including Perspective, Vision, and Designer modules.
- Design and implement Ignition integrations connecting PLCs, MES, ERP, SCADA, and SQL Server databases to support real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Configure Ignition tag structures, alarms, notifications, historian data collection, and user security per company standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize Ignition gateway performance, communications, and manufacturing system interfaces.
- Conduct testing and validation of MES systems to ensure shop-floor accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate within self-managed, cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
- Ignition Platform: Perspective, Vision, Designer, Tag Management
- Programming & Web: C#, Python, Web Forms
- Databases & Protocols: SQL Server, PLC Communication, SCADA/ERP Integration
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in MES, SCADA, industrial automation, or manufacturing software development.
- Ignition Expertise: Strong preferred experience developing and supporting Ignition applications in a live manufacturing environment.
- Work Environment Capabilities: Comfortable wearing required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection) in a dynamic plant environment with moving machinery and variable sound levels.
