The emergency medicine residency program is the first EM residency in Brooklyn. TBHC's four-year training program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education since 1989 and has a long tradition of excellence in both clinical and academic medicine. Graduates have gone on to become leaders in emergency medicine. The department includes 32 emergency medicine residents, 15 full-time faculty, and three administrative assistants. Academically affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center, the ED is designated as a Regional Stroke Center and STEMI center.
This facility is a 464-bed, full-service teaching hospital in the Fort Greene neighborhood near Downtown Brooklyn and serves over 70,000 patients per year.
