Job Title: Construction Quality / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) – Barrier Installation Project
Location: Fort Stewart, GA
Job Overview:
TeamGOV is seeking a qualified Construction Quality / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support the installation of nine active vehicle barriers at Gate 1, the primary Access Control Point (ACP) for Fort Stewart and the main Visitor Control Center (VCC) processing location. This site experiences the highest traffic volume on the installation and is located on W. General Screven Way, consisting of a five-lane roadway (three inbound, two outbound).
The SSHO will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing all aspects of the project’s Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Program, ensuring full compliance with contract requirements, EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations in a high-visibility, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, manage, and enforce the site-specific safety program and approved Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
- Ensure full compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and all regulatory requirements
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and document findings
- Develop, review, and enforce Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA) for all phases of work
- Perform safety inspections on tools, equipment, and barrier installation activities
- Oversee safe installation operations for active vehicle barrier systems in a high-traffic ACP environment
- Lead daily safety briefings, meetings, and ongoing safety training initiatives
- Identify hazardous conditions and implement immediate corrective actions
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure minimal disruption to gate operations and traffic flow
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
- Ensure continuous on-site safety coverage; SSHO or a qualified alternate must be present at all times during active work
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience (or 3 years with a safety-related degree or certification)
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training within the last 5 years
- Current 8-hour annual safety refresher training
- Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 requirements and OSHA regulations
- Must meet the definition of a Competent Person with demonstrated experience in APP and AHA development and enforcement
- Experience working in high-traffic, security-sensitive, or government/military environments preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
