TEAMCare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN that values a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Who we are: We are a TEAM of licensed professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, clinicians, and caring support staff. TEAMCare intentionally collaborates with patients, family members, primary care physicians, and other providers in a strength-based approach to intervention.
As a Medical Assistant, you will be a liaison between the patients and on-site/community providers to assure access to quality behavioral health care. You will be responsible for physical health screenings, including collection of vitals. You will also perform prior authorizations, communication with pharmacies and community providers to ensure collaboration and coordination of care, referrals to specialists, and assist with prescription refills.
Summary of Job Responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Greets patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions/directions.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation and understanding.
- Obtains and enters new patient demographics and updates patient information, as necessary, in the EMR to maintain accuracy of medical records.
- Takes and records temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal, and assesses condition of patient.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved practice protocol.
- Collaborates with patients' families, hospitals, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
- Completes prior authorizations and necessary paperwork for insurance companies and patients.
- Responds to patient questions within scope of responsibility regarding medication and treatment plans in accordance with clinic policy and consults a licensed provider with questions or information that fall outside of the established protocols.
- Coordinates, maintains, and orders medication samples from drug reps.
- Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
- Administers medication and first aid needs of patients at Summer Therapeutic Activities Program (STAP)
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Assistant Certification, LPN
- Must have Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances
- Must provide official transcripts and copies of diploma(s)
