The Automotive Operations Manager oversees the facility responsible for maintenance and repair of the customer vehicle(s). This role ensures efficient shop operations, manages staff performance, controls repair costs, and maintains a safe and productive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Hire shop staff.
· Oversees the daily workflow and scheduling of shop employees to ensure efficient operations.
· Ensures technicians remain on task and complete repairs within established timeframes.
· Assigns and delegates work appropriately based on technician skills, workload, and operational priorities.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Holds employees accountable for productivity, safety compliance, and quality of work.
· Handles discipline or termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Encourages collaboration and teamwork among technicians and shop staff.
· Acts as a communication buffer between the shop team and Owner to ensure alignment with leadership expectations.
· Serves as the safety coordinator and enforces all shop safety policies and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Ensures performance of repairs and maintenance are properly assigned.
· Maintains database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment.
· Oversees shop inventory and orders parts, tools, and supplies while monitoring costs to maintain Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) within predetermined financial targets.
· Ensures all applicable safety standards and regulations are followed within the facility.
· Prepares maintenance schedules for motor vehicles and heavy equipment and notifies drivers or operators when maintenance/upkeep is required.
· Maintain a clean, organized shop environment at all times, ensuring all parts and tools are properly labeled, bagged, and stored in their designated locations.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Five years of related experience preferred.
· Vocational or technical school training preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
· Good vision to inspect repair work.
· Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
