What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Technician position at TEAM PHYSICAL THERAPY, P.C.?
Purpose of Position
The physical therapy technician will work with patients during their physical therapy treatments, and ensure that the facility and equipment remains in clean condition. This requires excellent multi-tasking skills and good verbal communication between the Physical Therapist and the patient.
Essential Duties (must be performed with or without accommodations)
- Assisting patients in preparation for manual therapy treatment in the room, and therapeutic exercises in the gym, as outlined by the physical therapist.
- Recording said exercises and other essential information on patient’s treatment sheet
- Cleaning equipment after use; general facility cleaning; occasional deep cleaning
- Basic receptionist duties:
- Answering phones, scheduling patients, processing patient paperwork and transferring to computer software.
- Collecting payments and sending to corporate office
Other Duties
- Assist physical therapist or physical therapist assistant as needed
- Assist any and all staff as needed
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisors
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, skills, abilities
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Treatment equipment (e-stim, treadmill, theraband, nu-step, etc)
- General medical terminology (referral, general practitioner, specialist, discharge, etc)
- Ability to type and use computer
- Verbal communication
- Must possess organizational skills
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 100 feet
Job Prerequisites
- Must hold, or be able to obtain, valid Nebraska driver’s license
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
